ERA and UK
Electronic Research Administration (ERA) is the process through which the administrative and business side of grant activity is automated via computer to computer communication in an effort to improve the efficiency through computing technology and the Internet. This includes activities such as finding funding sources, program announcements, proposal preparation, proposal submission, award notification, projects/accounting reports and close-out activities. It can be a full, so called, "cradle to grave" system for the grant process.
When you know you will be working with an Internet based proposal, it is particularly important that you contact and work with your Research Administrator or College Grants Officer as early in the proposal preparation process as possible. Each proposal submission system offers unique challenges which the Office of Sponsored Projects Administration can help resolve, saving you time and effort.
