to support any expenses that may be excludable when filing income tax forms.
Student Support
Funds are available to degree-seeking graduate students for assistance with
expenses relating to travel
to present research at professional meetings, and may be available for thesis or dissertation research. Student Support funding guidelines have been revised. Priority order for funding in each cycle will be travel to conferences for: 1. doctoral students who have passed qualifying exams, 2. other doctoral students, and 3. master's degree students. Funding for research projects is unavailable until further notice.
In addition to completing and submitting the Nomination form, it is important to read the Student
Support Guidelines for information about these awards. In order to be eligible for Support Funding, students must:
- 1. be currently enrolled as a degree-seeking student in the UK Graduate School
- 2. be prepared to provide receipts for all expenses upon request by the Graduate
School
- 3. submit proof from the conference that you are presenting, such as a conference agenda listing your name, an e-mail stating that your poster or abstract was accepted for presentation, etc. For research, provide a very brief statement describing research, along with location and research dates.
- For Travel
to Professional Meeting/Conference
All current graduate students are eligible to apply for Conference Support
if they have been accepted to present research at a conference or professional
meeting. Awards may total no more than $400 per student per fiscal year
for presentations at domestic locations or $800 per fiscal year for presentations
at international locations.
- For Research
or Research-Related Travel (currently unavailable)
All current graduate students are eligible to apply for Research Support
if they have specific expenses related to thesis or dissertation research.
Awards may total no more than $400 per student per fiscal year for research
at domestic locations or $800 per fiscal year for research at international
locations. The research topic and trip must be approved by the Director
of Graduate Studies.
Students may apply for one conference or research award per fiscal year. Students must submit the application with all required materials attached by the deadline to be considered. The monthly deadlines are noted on the application forms.
