Aseptic Rodent Surgery Workshop
This workshop will demonstrate the appropriate way to prep your surgical area and patient in an aseptic manner. Handouts will be offered for future reference as well.

A wide variety of training opportunities are available through the Division of Laboratory Animal Resources including Aseptic Surgery guidelines, restraint and blood collection, oral gavage and injection techniques. Our staff has experience in the care and handling of most common laboratory animal species and is only too happy to assist you and your staff. Inquires for group or individual sessions can be scheduled by contacting our DLAR training Coordinator or veterinary staff. Technical assistance may be obtained from our research analysts by contacting our Experimental Surgery coordinator.

In addition to our library, consisting of printed materials, CD's and DVD's, individual and group session training, technical services through our research analysts, and veterinary consultations, there are a number of self-paced training modules available on the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) Learning Library and the University of Kentucky eLearning Blackboard system.
