Andrews Named New CAER Director
Rodney Andrews, currently serving as the acting director of the Center for Applied Energy Research (CAER), will become the center director effective August 15, 2007, subject to Board of Trustees approval.
Rodney received his Ph.D. at the University of Kentucky and joined the CAER research staff in 1999. His research focuses on carbon materials including nanotube synthesis, nanotube and nanotube-composite materials, carbon fiber formation, and other carbon materials. Andrews has directed major multi-university and industry-academy collaborative projects, serving as Principal Investigator on over $2.5 million in grant awards and as co-investigator on an additional $2 million.
