NIH R01 Proposal Development Workshop
and Internet Course
UK faculty have a unique
opportunity to participate in an interactive proposal
development workshop on Nov. 5 and to receive password
access to an NIH-funded Internet course not yet available
to the general public.
Sponsored Program Development, the vice president for
Research and the associate vice president for Research,
Medical Center, are hosting this workshop for UK faculty
on Monday, Nov. 5 from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m. The
workshop is tailored for researchers who plan to submit
competitive research proposals to NIH. The format involves
a hands-on review of a proposal submitted by a team of UK
researchers and provides an experience similar to the
group dynamics of NIH study-section activities. Following
the workshop, participants will have access to the NIH-funded
Internet course developed by a multidisciplinary team at
UK, headed by Don Frazier of the physiology department.
The hands-on nature of the workshop and the licensing
restrictions of the course software limit our number of
participants. The deadline for registration is October
17. Confirmation letters and the required reading
material for the workshop will be hand-delivered shortly
thereafter. To enroll, contact Laura Henry (257-2861, ljhenr0@uky.edu)
or Jennifer Morgan (257-2978, jllutt1@uky.edu).
If you have any questions, contact Margot McCullers in
sponsored program development (mmcculle@uky.edu;
