The University has successfully negotiated Facilities and Administrative Cost (F&A) rates with the Department of Health and Human Services. Rates for the next three fiscal years (effective July 1, 2002) have been established. The new rates should be used immediately on all new proposal submissions. The following rates apply to the fiscal year July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003:

| Other Activities | 37% | 26% |
| Agriculture | 36% | 20% |

SPD Announces New Subject Mailing Lists
Looking for funding? Investigators who wish to be alerted of agency solicitations for grant applications in the following areas may sign up for new subject mailing lists created by the Office of Sponsored Program Development:

Funding announcements from such sources as FedBizOpps, the Federal Register, and the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts which fall under these subject categories will be disseminated to members of the pertinent list. The PHS 2590 instructions have been updated to clarify instructions and reporting formats for inclusion of women and minorities in non-competing reports. The updates are marked in purple to make them more easily identifiable.
The PHS 398 instructions have been updated to clarify instructions for "Other Support" on Research Career Awards. The updates are marked in purple to make them more easily identifiable.
RCA Substitute Form Page 3 (PHS 398) has been reloaded to clarify placement of Other Support
Applicants are urged to discard previous versions of the PHS 398 and PHS 2590 instructions and use the current versions to ensure they have the most accurate information.
