NCURA
Special Satellite Broadcast
“The True Costs
of Compliance and Why We Must Invest” is the title of an
upcoming satellite broadcast presented by the National
Council of University Research Administrators and sponsored
by UK’s Office of Sponsored Projects Administration.
The broadcast will be held on
May
14, 2002, at the
Student Center Theater from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Join John Fini,
financial director, Research Management at Massachusetts
General Hospital, and Michael Amey, assistant dean for
Research Administration, School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins
University for a wide-ranging discussion of the
obvious—and not-so-obvious—costs for compliance and
non-compliance. The
panel, which will include federal agency representatives,
will give research administrators and senior officials a
realistic view of the true costs of research compliance, and
provide some real-world advice and suggestions for meeting
requirements during a time of budgetary constraints and
competing needs within the overall research enterprise.
