KSTC Summer Student Internship, Business Research Position

The Innovation Group, a Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation initiative, is seeking a full-time temporary (summer) student intern who would:

·        help develop Gorilla Group (http://www.gorillagroup.com), a program that provides outreach to college entrepreneurs in Kentucky;

·        assist in starting entrepreneurship clubs in other colleges in Kentucky to interface with Gorilla Group;

·        create and implement a business plan competition in Kentucky;

·        do fundraising;

·        assist in the development of a Rural Kentucky marketing campaign by interfacing with local and regional economic development personnel; and

·        help to develop a finance workshop in conjunction with the statewide Innovation Commercialization Center

Candidates should have good organizational and computer skills with a focus in business (finance or marketing) and an interest in technology startups. Salary will be competitive with Kentucky market. No benefits. Please send resume to tig@kstc.com by May 17, 2002 .

Updated Facilities and Administrative Cost Rate Agreement  

The Facilities and Administrative Cost Rate Agreement for the University of Kentucky has been updated to allow for the direct charging of miscellaneous fringe benefits, including workers’ compensation and unemployment insurance.  Proposals should reference the revised rate agreement effective date of March 26, 2002.

A new rate agreement is anticipated, but proposal budgets should continue to use the existing Facilities and Administrative cost rates until the new agreement has been issued.
